Fully activates when pulling from case (turns on and pairs). Remote noise cancellation activation, muting, etc.. is huge. Great build quality. Transmitter survived a 6 foot drop to tile without a scratch. Mic quality is surprisingly good with usable noise cancellation. Only con is that I wish the record and power buttons weren't where you handle the transmitter. talent accidentally turned one off when handling the mic. minor gripe. The magnets are a GAME changer. You can place the mic in areas where using clips would just FLOP and point the mic downward (ex: thin fabrics and collars)
